"Techne" is a Greek
word meaning "skill" or "craft".
By adding the suffix "ology", meaning "the science of", it forms the word "technology", meaning "a science of a skill or a craft."
A popular misconception is that technology is a computer, cell phone, or
an electronic gadget. These are products, not technology. The know-how
that goes into the conception, the design, the manufacture, and the
application of these products, as well as every product that we use, is
technology. In fact, most products are made up of many technologies. A very
important point is that know-how (technology) resides with an organization's people and the effective use
of what they know; and that is the reason it is the first part of our name. The second part of our name, synergies, pertains to the positive effects of the interaction
of know-how and of people who possess this know-how for the creation of
industry leading products and services.
